Mommy's little Monster's Fearless Dawn.

Deviantart is a wonderful online community of artists. Much coolness can be found there and in many cases, the coolness finds you also. Emily Thomas's work really sent me, if I were to get a tattoo she would be the one to design it. I couldn't believe how she channels the "Sailor Jerry" style with her own crazy cool thrown in there too. It's like a gal from the new millenium drawing like she's from the 40's? Holy ---! So I was super psyched when she became inspired by our own Fearless Dawn gal and was a-hankerin' to paint a version. Lo and behold, here it is! Just in time for our Canadian jaunt up to Fan Expo where I'll get to meet this wonderful artist and see this beauty in person. Word is... a trade will be arranged and I will be smuggling this piece of red-hot contraband back across the border! Thanks Emily, she came out great. Inspiration

My favorite guy at the moment, Jordi Bernet. He's got the humor in there, the inks have darks, mids, and lights. Great looking characters and sets.I love the lettering even though I can't understand most of it. His babes are totally hot. And it looks like he just threw it all on there so effortlessly. I heard a guy say he's too sloppy once but I dunno. Just a great comic book vibe coming through for me. I've been looking at this particular page for days. Genius here.

Here's a great bunch of pages I found over at Koch Comic Art link. Growing up I did not read any Archie but somehow I've been influenced by this stuff. The humor's great, the cute chicks--How the gals are all disheveled from chasing the guys here... Look how Veronica's hair is all scratchy and tattered on the silouette but it still has that 50's comic ink sheen to it. Brilliant!

A pencil piece done for the FP signing to go on the wall. I figured a big image would help people see me there. The art ended up hanging kind of high. Maybe next time we could string them on a clothesline!
